Opportunities for economic partnerships and collaborations of all kinds are exploding around the world. Economic Development and Global Engagement, which resulted from the merger of Economic Development and International Programs wseeks to bring its shared resources to confronting an array of international issues.
We are now uniquely positioned to work with international organizations and others in seeking to address some of the world’s biggest problems, including climate change and global poverty. Through the US-China Clean Energy Forum we promote our research and Washington’s strengths in clean technology to inform agreements between our two countries on energy and the environment.
WSU is committed to the continued growth and development of its international academic programs, ranging from Afghanistan to Uzbekistan:
- International Research and Development is presently engaged in over a dozen international development projects in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and South America.
- Education Abroad allows students to develop the international competencies valued by employers by choosing among study opportunities in 70 countries.
- Office of International Students and Scholars serves nearly 2000 international students, scholars and faculty from over 100 countries
- Powered by WSU, Ripple Effect is a philanthropic website enabling people to purchase items that are used to improve the lives and livelihood of people in Malawi, Africa.
